This was Frida's first largest piece and the one she was paid the most for.

One is the traditional Frida in Tehuana costume, with a broken heart, sit-
ting next to an independent, modern dressed Frida and shows her two

dierent personalities. She painted this right after she came back from
Paris and then divorced Diego...... It is a very emotional picture showing a
Frida that was loved and one that was unloved. 2 Fridas against a stormy
background with their hearts pulled out, one being cut with a pair of
scissors and bleeding..the other wearing a Diego pendant.
Out came my vintage postcard (Circa 1901) mailed to someone in Paris
and I paint " My Two Fridas". We all have two personalities..don't we? Our
inner selves and our public self? My inner self is the one who fears,
doubts, has insecurities, .... but I am just about learning to embrace her,
love her.. MY "Two Fridas" is about self-love and how important it is no
matter what the world thinks of you or what you think of yourself.
